Frothy, creamy and a great way to get some healthy fats in your day, this bulletproof coffee recipe is so easy! Make these cinnamon butter coffee drops for bulletproof coffee on the go!
The mornings can be a rough time. Especially if you are waking up to go to work, or the gym and it’s still dark outside. Something in your brain is screaming, “it’s still bedtime!”
However, mornings till need to happen. The boy still needs his breakfast, laundry needs to be done, animals need to be fed. It’s at those times, coffee becomes our best friend. Coffee gives that jolt that wakes us up, and can keep us going for a while.
Is coffee really healthy for you?
This is a loaded question, to be honest. Truly, the answer depends on a lot of factors. Which health provider you listen to, what reports they are gleaning their information from, and your own personal health.
Caffeine is a stimulant, and heavy consumption can cause adrenal fatigue, and may lead to poor sleep. (source) However, there are studies being done that are showing that coffee has some anti-inflammatory properties to it as well. (source)
Of course, moderation is the key to everything. 1-2 cups a day most likely won’t hurt you. But, if you notice that you are not sleeping as well, and are always tired, you may want to check that out with your doctor and/or give up the caffeine for a while. If you choose to continue to consume coffee, as I do daily, you may want to try bulletproof coffee.
What is bulletproof coffee?
It’s coffee with healthy fats, and a bit of sweetener if you like. Bulletproof coffee generally has grass fed butter, MCT oil, and stevia or erythritol. You would put it into a blender, and blend it until it’s rich and frothy.
You want to use the highest quality ingredients you can source for this. Regular stick butter is okay, but the pasture raised, grass fed will not only taste better, it is thought to have a higher nutrient count. You can find it at most grocery stores. Kerrygold is a popular Irish butter that is made from grass fed cows.

What are the benefits of bulletproof coffee?
It has the flavor and richness of a coffee shop drink. Bulletproof coffee will also give you the caffeine “jolt” you need in the mornings, but without the crash later. Healthy fats help slow the absorption of the caffeine to avoid crashing.
Bulletproof coffee may also suppress hunger, due to the added fats. It may also help with brain function, due to the ketones.
How do you make bulletproof coffee?
Generally, start with 8-10 ounces of a good quality brewed coffee. Add 1-2 Tablespoons grass fed, unsalted butter, and 1-2 Tablespoons MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil. Blend and enjoy. Pretty simple, right?
You can add collagen powder to your coffee if you like. I usually do, as that’s an easy way to get healthy proteins and balance out the fats.
These cinnamon butter coffee drops will help you make your bulletproof coffee faster and easier than ever!
Why do you use cinnamon?
Cinnamon not only tastes great, it’s thought to be heart healthy and help stabilize blood sugar levels and blood pressure levels. I use the powdered ceylon cinnamon found at the store, not the essential oil. Powdered cinnamon is easier to control the amount, and even though it’s being added to a “carrier” oil, it may not be healthy to ingest cinnamon essential oil.
What size are the bulletproof coffee drops?
I used the mold here to make 36 of them. According to the description, they are 1 inch across, and almost 1/2 inch deep. Your molds may be larger or smaller, but you can plan accordingly. If you get 12 drops with this recipe, then triple the macros and so on.

Hi Heather. Are you using 8 fl oz of butter or 8 net wt oz? Are we talking volume or weight? Thanks!
8 ounces by weight. That is typical of most recipes, sorry for the confusion.
