Savory spices come together in a symphony of flavor in this easy homemade taco seasoning! You’ll say goodbye to store bought taco seasoning forever!
We love taco night in our home. Whether it’s full on tacos with keto friendly wraps, or taco salad, or even just taco meat piled high on the plate with cheese and sour cream, it’s all comfort food for us.
However, a LOT of commercial brands of taco seasoning packets have a lot of carbs, some as many as 3 per serving. Those commercial brands can also contain gluten, or cornstarch for fillers, both of which are a huge no-no on keto. Did you know that it’s super easy to make your own taco seasoning?
Believe me, there was a time I couldn’t fathom making my own anything, including taco seasoning. I am truly grateful to the friends that I had, online and in real life, who helped me learn how to cook simple stuff.
This easy homemade taco seasoning was one of the first things I ever learned how to make, and it’s still a family staple.
My favorite part of this easy homemade taco seasoning is just how fast it comes together. A full batch can store in the pantry for up to 3 months. We normally can go through a batch of homemade taco seasoning in 3 months, eating taco night once a week.
Now, the spices may begin to lose their flavor after 3 months, so if you can’t use this whole batch up, feel free to cut it down. Start small and make another one if you need to, so you can avoid bland seasonings. You can also store this in the freezer to help keep the spice integrity, if you want to.
