When the weather heats up, cool down with this frozen strawberry lemonade! Delightfully frosty, chilling drink PLUS you can stay on your keto goals!
Our summer is generally very warm. Okay, it’s very hot, humid, sticky and sweltering. Drinking gallons of water helps, but it’s not always enough.
Sometimes, you need a bit of a sweet treat while you are cooling off. Those sugary laden sodas, energy drinks, and popsicles? They are not good for you at all. Besides the sugar, there can be a myriad of questionable chemicals you may be wanting to avoid.
It’s good to know that you have an alternative. This frozen concoction uses erythritol instead of regular sugar.
Other Refreshing Drinks To Try
We are also using fresh strawberries. Strawberries are low carb, and in moderation, can be consumed on a keto diet. Strawberries are also high in Vitamin C, and can help improve the heart health. They may also increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels, and lower your blood pressure. All that in less than 9 net carbs per cup!
Are you ready for a tasty treat like this sugar free frozen strawberry lemonade?
First, you are going to want to wash, stem, and cut your strawberries into quarters. Lay your quartered strawberries in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for 2 hours. If you want to use pre-frozen berries for this, make sure to check the package so you are not getting added sugar.
Now, you are going to make your lemonade. Mix the lemon juice, erythritol, and water in a large gallon sized pitcher or jar. You can save the rest for drinking later, too.
Blend the frozen strawberries with the lemonade in a high speed blender until smooth. Viola! Frozen strawberry lemonade that is low carb, keto friendly, and paleo!
