Chocolatey creaminess in a rich, velvety smooth keto hot chocolate. Pure keto and low carb, chocolate happiness in a mug!
When you are watching snowflakes fall from the sky, a warm beverage always seems like a good idea, right? Something warm, and soothing. Something rich, creamy and full of chocolate.
When I was a kid, during the winter, we would drink hot chocolate by the gallons. We would bundle up in umpteen layers, head outside to build snowmen, forts and snow angels. After a couple of hours, we would trudge back inside to peel off cold, wet coats, socks, and pants. After dressing in warm, dry clothes, we would munch on hot buttered toast, dipped in hot chocolate.
I can still taste it now. The butter from the toast would make the hot chocolate even more rich and creamy. Cripsy, crunchy toast would take on a chocolate flavor that would burst in our mouths. Pure kid heaven. Now I can go back to my happy childhood memories with just a few sips of this delicious, creamy beverage.
Keto hot chocolate is definitely warm comfort food for the soul.
Rich and creamy, it has all the flavors of the boxed hot chocolate of my childhood, but without the sugar. Or the dairy. This version is diary free, making it perfect for keto, low carb, or even a paleo diet. You can substitute almond milk, or cashew milk if you would like as well. You will still get a rich beverage that is sure to be a family pleaser!
Adding in the collagen is totally optional, but it will help your hot chocolate to be more “frothy” and like you would get in a coffee shop. Collagen is also thought to be gut healing and tummy soothing. It’s a good source of protein and will also help keep you full, making this a great snack to satisfy those cravings!
