Take your sloppy to to the keto level with this spicy mixture! These keto sloppy joes can be served over lettuce, cloud bread, or just in a bowl for a delicious meal!
Ah, the American sloppy joe. It takes ground meat, adds some tomatoes, onions, and some form of sugar. Place it all on a bun and pray it stays in place while you eat. Of course, that’s why they are called “sloppy joes”, because it will often come off the bun, making a sloppy mess.
The biggest problem with most sloppy joe recipes is the added sugar. It can come from honey, molasses, or brown sugar. In some cases, it has more than one. Homemade sloppy joe is the ultimate kid friendly comfort food, but it needs a makeover.
Enter in the sugar free sloppy joes.
You don’t need the added sugar to make this recipe. All it takes is some great seasoning. A few onions, garlic, jalapeno, bell pepper, and a bit of Worcestershire sauce is the base. Add in a some seasonings and browned ground meat, and you have a low carb sloppy joe that will rival the classic sloppy joe!
Regular sloppy joes are served on hamburger buns, but even a “lazy” keto diet, or low carb needs a different bun. Plain hamburger buns, even the “healthy ones” can have as many as 15 net carbs per bun. You can find low carb breads to use, but they can be expensive.
If you are okay with a bit of wheat in your diet, a low carb bun, or Joseph’s lavash bread are a nice option with your sloppy joes. You can find these at most chain grocery stores, or they carry them on Amazon.

Are you ready for a mouth watering, keto sloppy joe that your entire family will love?
Let’s talk meat first. Classic sloppy joes call for ground beef, but you can mix it up even more. Try ground turkey, ground chicken, or even a combination of all three! Whatever you choose, be sure to NOT drain or rinse the meat.
You want the fat from the meat in this meal, as it’s good for you. Fat is also where all the flavor is. Keep the fat please.
