Made with fresh strawberries, and so tender and soft, these low carb donuts are the perfect breakfast treat anytime!
Okay, you gotta be wondering if any donuts are good on a weight loss diet. Well, yes and no. Regular donuts from the store or drive thru are most decidedly NOT healthy for you. They are also not conducive to weight loss no matter what diet you are on.
By changing some of the ingredients, we can make a healthier donut. These baked donuts have net carb count of 1.5 for each donut! This will help you “indulge” but stay on your keto goals. Add some eggs, and some fresh strawberries and cream on the side for a great breakfast!
I hope you enjoy these keto strawberry donuts!
Strawberry Recipes To Enjoy
This donut recipe is for baked donuts, using a donut pan. Since the batter is pretty thin, it will be hard to pipe it onto a baking sheet.
For the glaze, we are going to use erythritol in the powdered sugar form. If you don’t have any powdered erythritol you can make your own! Just add granulated erythritol to a blender or food processor and and grind to powder it down. The strawberry glaze is made by using strawberry extract, available at nearly any grocery store in the baking aisle.
You can use a regular donut pan like this one, or you can use a mini donut maker like this one. I love my mini donut maker because I can have fresh donuts in a flash!
If you make them mini, this low carb donuts recipe should yield you 24. A serving would be 3 mini donuts. If you make them in a regular donut pan, this recipe should yield 8, making the serving size 1 donut.
Are you ready for a sugar free donut that you will love to make again and again?
